Education empowers citizens. An educated person holds the power to not only shape his life but also to script success stories for the entire nation and mankind at large. Capable people are all around us, and their abilities go unutilized due to an educational system steeped in tradition and old ideas.
The time to create a new educational model is here. A model, supported by industry and academia, which is robust enough to meet the challenges of a growing Human Resource demand and lack of employability head on.
The time to rewrite the rules of education using innovative curriculum, state-of-the-art infrastructure and a blend of traditional and non-traditional faculty is NOW.

  • Education that focuses on creation... not just management!
Education that focuses on creation... not just management!
An entrepreneur is a person who manages resources and takes an idea from concept to execution. People who can execute are few and far between. To be able to implement an idea one needs to be agile, adaptable and aware especially in today’s Indian context.
Entrepreneurs are required everywhere whether it is a small business, a large multi-national or an NGO. All through out history, entrepreneurs have created New roads, thereby giving new direction to man kind. Government or a big multinational company is not the solution to some of our biggest problems. Many entrepreneurs working on ground finding innovative solutions is the answer.
Our curriculum has a strong entrepreneurial approach starting from classroom lectures to assignments. Our curriculum is designed to make students aware, agile and adaptable through guest lectures by successful people from varied backgrounds. We teach our students to question the status-quo leading to innovative ideas and a new way of thinking.

  • Education that gives a real world experience... in safety of a classroom
Education that gives a real world experience... in safety of a classroom
Experience is the best teacher. A typical classroom gives out concepts and theory without explaining the applicability in real life. Education, if designed around the life experiences of a student, becomes an extremely powerful learning tool. Teachers become facilitators, helping students derive learnings and concepts from their experiences, creating life long learners.
Experiential Learning relates to the idea that learners learn best by doing. The role of our teacher in this process would be to design or let experiences unfold in the classroom and encourage participants to reflect on these experiences either in groups or individually. Students would be participating in experiential learning exercises such as role-plays, simulations, industry visits, consulting assignments, internships, etc., which will enhance understanding of the courses.
  • Education that is relevant
Education that is relevant
The Indian education system has remained relatively unchanged for the past 60 years despite significant changes in technology, business and culture. We have gone from the industrial age to an age of services which requires customization and non-linear thinking. Rote learning leads to accumulation of facts without application. In todays time, application of concepts is what is required in business and in life.
To create a relevant education system, a collaborative approach is a must. Through involvement of individuals from diverse backgrounds and the community at large, we have been able to create a curriculum that equips the student with skills required to be successful in an area of their choice.

  • Education that helps connect the dots
Education that helps connect the dots
As the world becomes more and more interconnected, we need to understand the significance of our actions on our surroundings. From global warming to local droughts, from global trade to local stores everything is interconnected. To become socially responsible citizens and successful individuals one needs to understand the relationships that exist in the ecosystem.
Our Systems Thinking approach to education allows us to broaden the students perspectives so they understand their impact on the world and how they can bring about a change. This is constantly reaffirmed through interactions with successful entrepreneurs, philanthropists and community leaders.
  • Education that fosters creativity
Education that fosters creativity
Indians are fundamentally very creative, especially in a non-academic environment. Some of the most brilliant ideas can be seen at the grass root level where there is an absence of formal education.
All children are talented, however our education system kills the creativity in a child through conformity. Emphasis on maths and sciences only prevents a child’s natural intelligence from developing. To create something new one must be prepared to be wrong. Yet from early years a strong fear of failure is instilled in us that prevents many from taking a chance.
At Xcellon, we emphasize on creativity not just for students but also for our teachers, who are made to think out of the box by challenging them to come up with new delivery methods, innovative exercises and fun activities that lead to learning.
