Management theories that are taught in Indian Management Institutes are often developed in the West. Their application in the cultural context of India is often a question. Management theories developed elsewhere need to be modified for the Indiancontext.
India has developed a rich mix of management practices. This mix has been fortified with the contact India has had with other civilizations. All these are available to us: scriptures, folktales, myths and literature. Our teachings draw from such resources. Simply put, we would modify Western thought for Indian context and Indian thoughtfor modern context.
At Xcellon, while we believe in the power of global thought, we also value the traditions of Indian management practice. To bring this to the forefront, we have tailored our education process to also incorporate an Indian sensibility. We believe that these values, even from the background, become essential building blocks for the success of any individual.
